Why people look for a CarStream alternative
- Not showing in Android Auto
- A user reports CarStream 2.0.5 is not always displayed in Android Auto on Android 14 (AAAD issue #404, February 2026).

Common questions
Why is CarStream not showing in Android Auto?
CarStream installs from outside Google Play, and since 2018 Android Auto hides such apps unless they are installed in a special way, for example through AAAD. Users report the problem on Android 14 and 16. AAAD itself says its install method can fail at any time if Google changes Android Auto.
Does CarStream work on Android 16?
A user reports CarStream appears but only shows “no new messages during drive” on Android 16 (AAAD issue #366, closed in December 2025 as a duplicate of a report that is still open). We have not tested CarStream ourselves.
Is Jeda free like CarStream?
