How it works
Allow notification access
In Jeda on your phone, open Settings → Jeda Lyrics and allow notification access. Jeda uses it to see which song is playing and does not read your notifications.
Play a song
Play what you like in the Spotify, YouTube Music, or YouTube app on your phone.
Tap Jeda Lyrics
Open the Jeda Lyrics shortcut on the car screen. When matching lyrics are found, the active line follows the song, with artwork and play controls.
Good to know
- Control the song from the car
- Previous, play/pause, and next on the lyrics screen control the phone app, and dragging the progress bar seeks the song.
- Lyrics beside Maps, depending on your car
- Turn on Enable lyrics under Advanced and the current line also reaches the media card or instrument cluster. Some cars show it on the cluster, some only on the media card, and some not at all.
- Timing and text your way
- Adjust Lyrics Offset per song, and choose the font size and type in Settings → Jeda Lyrics. Song details are sent to LRCLIB to find the lyrics.
Common questions
How do I show Spotify lyrics on Android Auto?
Install Jeda, allow notification access in Settings → Jeda Lyrics, then play a song in the Spotify app on your phone and tap Jeda Lyrics on the car screen. To also see the line beside Maps, tap Jeda version ten times in Settings to show Advanced and turn on Enable lyrics.
Why don’t lyrics show in my car?
On the Jeda Lyrics screen, check that notification access is allowed and the song plays in Spotify, YouTube Music, or YouTube on your phone. Beside Maps, it depends on how your car displays song information: some instrument clusters show the line, some show it only on the media card, and some show nothing. Lyrics also appear only when a matching song is found.
Do lyrics work for every song?
Only for songs whose lyrics are found on LRCLIB. Otherwise the song keeps playing without lyrics.
Does Jeda work in every car?
